Giant beach cleanup in Tetiaroa
Tetiaroa atoll, an almost desert island northeast of Tahiti, is commonly seen as a small pristine and well preserved paradise. The reality is that the beaches are littered with debris brought there by the ocean and the wind. 15 m3 (840 kg) of rubbish of all kind (of which one third was recyclable waste) were collected during a cleanup operation organized by te mana o te moana, then sent back to Tahiti.
