For the first time since the creation of te mana o te moana, Dr Cécile Gaspar, helped by the scientist George Balazs and all the International scientists that were invited to the Symposium, has equipped a green sea turtle with a satellite tag prior to the release….
This turtle, a small green turtle named Tini, had been found and brought to the Sea Turtles Clinic by a family living on Moorea.
Sea turtles are equipped with satellite tags in order to follow their moves in the ocean.
Such data is extremely useful to elaborate conservation plans for these endangered species.
