The 39th World Festival of Underwater pictures was launched in Marseille, France, From 1st to 4th November 2012, with Philippe VALLETTE, President (from World Ocean Network).

In the category “Videoclip and short” in competition was the film “Honu Here, protegeons le sacré” by Anthony Lagant.
This short film presents and explains the efforts made by te mana o te moana in French Polynesia since 2004 to help protect sea turtles and raise awareness.
Cecile Gaspar, te mana o te moana’s President, was part of the Jury for “Medium lenght and feature films”…
She handed the Special Jury Prize to Denis Lagrange and Romain Dussaulx for their film “La traversée des Mondes” (“Crossing worlds”).
The Gold Prize was awarded to the film “Les Saumons-surprise” (“Surprise salmons”) by Bertrand Loyer, and was handed by the President of the Jury for “Medium lenght and feature films”, Romain Troublé, from Tara Expedition. Tahitian dancers were also present at the event.
