On Sunday 18 August, we were informed a turtle with a speargun arrow still in the neck was observed swimming in the lagoon next to the pass in front of the Intercontinental Moorea Hotel. The turtle is injured but still has enough energy to swim and dive.
If you see it, take the time to observe it, take pictures and videos and call us at 87 70 60 66 or 87 715 344.
If the turtle is weak and can be approached, you can board it on your boat and bring it to the Sea turtle care center.
Thank you for your help!

UPDATE
The same turtle was observed again on Tuesday 20 August. The person who saw it tried to come close but the turtle dived and was not seen after that. The turtle was observed in the ocean, just behind the Tiahura motus, very close to the location of the first observation.
The same recommendations still stand.
