Good news!
After 5 months at the Care center, Okely fed itself alone for the first time. During those long weeks, we have been constantly trying to stimulate its appetite in the hope that it would eat. Unfortunately, to no avail.
This week, for the first time, Okely opened its mouth and ate a squid. A beautiful victory that shows once again perseverance and patience pay when we are treating sea turtles with severe deficiencies.
It is also a big step towards its recovery, hoping that the motor and buoyancy concerns that still persist improve as a second step.
