On Friday 14th of October, Apetahi, who had been released from the Clinic this past month was brought back to the Clinic after a fisherman found her wounded and floating, with the spear still in her neck and the spear gun still attached in the lagoon of Moorea. The fisherman called the police, who brought back the turtle to the Clinic. This turtle, who just had been healed for a first wound caused by a spear gun 6 months ealier, is thus victim of a second spear, just 20 days after her release. Fortunately, Apetahi is a strong and resistant sea turtle. She gained back a lot of energy in just a few days, so we have already put her back in a nursery of the lagoon so she can swim more. We are confident she will recover soon.
