4 hatchlings have been transfered from Tetiaroa to the Sea turtle rehabilitation center earlier this week.
These turtles come from a nest laid very late in the season, on a very stoy substrate. They were therefore unable to get out of the nest on thier own, but have been unblocked thanks to the markings made to locate the nest after laying. Some were very weak and dehydrated, and others had wounds and motor skills discorders : they were therefore unable to be released directly into the sea. They are currently in care at the Sea turtle rehabilitation center and monitored continuously.
*Sea turtle rehabilitation center authorized by the Direction of the Environment of French Polynesia
