Thanks to the support of PEW (Pew Charitable trusts), te mana o te moana is conducing a large awareness raising educational project on the ocean and the needs to set up conservation plans, with a specific focus on Austral Islands. As part of this project, our marine biologist went into the Australes islands to provide educational program helping at a better understanding toward the creation of Protected Marine Areas.
At least, we raised awareness of more than than 472 school children from 9 to 13 years old.
Through this educational project held in French Polynesia by PEW, te mana o te moana is povinding animations into schools of Tahiti, Moorea and Australes Island, and is in charge of the creation of an educational toolkit based on Marine Areas and the necessity to protect our ocean; it will be accompanied by a charter and boardgames…. information on the project will be diffused in 2015.
