This young turtle was found on Moorea (district of Maatea), by 6 teenagers from the Moorea’s College during their surf session, and which already participated to one of our educational program oriented on sea turtles. This young turtles of 40 cm and 5 kilos was wounded at the neck despite that the fact that the consumption of the hawksbills’ meat is toxic.  After 5 months of cares at the Sea Turtle Clinic, she ‘s now ready to go back to the ocean, accompanied by Jean Michel Cousteau – ocean ambassador and President of Ocean Futures Society, Dr Cécile Gaspar – President and veterinarian of the foundation, Toni the captain of the Gauguin cruise, LaraP1330464one of our kind volunteer, Soai – our new veterinarian intern for 6 months and a team of the France 2 tv. Sammy is the 131 th turtle released in 9 years of existence of the Sea Turtle Clinic. A big thank you to Utia, Tehira, Temauri, Honoriki, Tekurio and Rainui for their involvment in the preservation of their natural marine heritage.
