Raising awareness at the 2023 TAURE’A MOVE

During the school vacation week, we were honored to take part in the 2023 Taure’a Move 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔-𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 morning in the Papearii botanical gardens.

The youngsters were able to benefit from :

Information on sea turtles in French Polynesia

Presentation of samples of sea turtle scales and eggshells

Awareness on sea turtle threats, such as plastic pollution

Educational games on marine animals and on the environment

Mauruuru to all the youngsters for your participation and thanks to Union Polynésienne pour la Jeunesse for organizing this 𝒘𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕!

Resuming of our education programs

𝗔𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁

We had the immense joy of welcoming the children of the ANUANUAHERE daycare center in Faa’a for a DISCOVERY education program in our new premises. A first since our transfer to Tahiti!

Children aged 3 to 12 had the privilege of participating in education workshops in our educational “fare” and of discovering the residents of the Rehabilitation center, to the delight of the teams.

Starting in the new scholar year, we will have the pleasure of opening our doors to Polynesian schools, who can already book their educational programs with us at education@temanaotemoana.org.

One week of actions in Makatea

Te mana o te moana was honored to take part in the 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 to raise awareness among the participants and Makatea’s elementary school students.

On the schedule, a booth and awareness workshops included activities on:

– Environmental protection

– Sea turtles

– Cetaceans

– The life cycle of coconut crabs (kaveu)

The school children on the island were thus able to benefit from 2 half-days of educational programs to their delight and that of our educators.
