Thanks to the authorization and support of the Direction de l’Environnement Polyn\u00e9sie Fran\u00e7aise, during the nesting season, Te mana o te moana regularly welcomes baby green turtles who are too weak to reach the lagoon upon nest exit.<\/p>\n

The hatchlings are fed and monitored to ensure appropriate growth and weight gain. Medical care is also provided when necessary (disinfection of wounds in particular). With just over 100gr at 2 months of age, these green turtles will reach their reproduction age in about 20 years. A long, perilous path.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is estimated that 1 in 1,000 hatchlings will reach breeding age.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
