Last month, we had the pleasure of taking part in the launch of the FA’ATURA TE TAHATAI project, a “research-conservation” project on the coastal biodiversity of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this project is to :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Carry out operations to restore native coastal vegetation <\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Share a protocol based on the best scientific data, with feedback from concrete restoration actions on three islands in the Society archipelago (Tahiti, Moorea and Tetiaroa) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Implement a wide-ranging awareness-raising program to help restore coastal biodiversity in French Polynesia and adapt to the effects of climate change <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each partner had the opportunity to present the project and discover one of the coastal restoration zones, as well as the Opunohu plant nursery, run by the Tahitian Historical Society<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
