Hohoni-Manareva is a young green sea turtle who was found last year as our team was digging up an already emerged nest to count for empty shells and dead hatchlings during the nesting monitoring on Tetiaroa. Hohoni-Manareva was very weakened and injured, so she was brought back to the Clinic to be rehabilitated.
Papehau, young winner of an illustrated tale contest we organised a few month ago, joined us for Hohoni’s release and renamed her Manareva for the occasion on the 24th of November.
Soon, Papehau’s beatiful tale will be read by Thomas Pesquet, a french astronaute from the ESA, who just took off for 6 months onboard of the International Space Station.
