It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tuffy.Tuffy arrived at the care center in June 2013 from Tikehau with severe wounds to his head and shell due to poaching.
Despite all of his wounds healing well, Tuffy developed a motor skill issue and was going in circles inside the center lagoon.
Recently, Tuffy became weak and was floating. Several medical exams were carried out and Estelle, a French veterinarian and sea turtle specialist with several experiences in centers around the world came to help us. Despite her help and all the medical treatment implemented, Tuffy did not survive.
We wish to thank all the people who directly or indirectly took care of Tuffy. We also wish to thank all of you who have been supporting our foundation allowing us to take care of him, or who, simply came to visit.
