As part of the Univairmer partnership, Te mana o te moana installed a coral structure with coral cuttings made during educational programs. In the shape of a sea turtle, the structure has been named To’a honu (“Coral turtle” in Tahitian) and now adorns the resting pool of the Care center where the big adult turtles are located.
This structure represents a unique opportunity to educate visitors on the importance of coral reef protection for the balance of the ecosystem and the well-being of all marine species.
