Today, we had the honor of welcoming musician Jack Johnson, his wife Kim and his band as well as Hawaiian musician Paula Fuga. A unique opportunity to present the actions of the association and of the 15 years of the Sea turtle care center.
Jack and Kim, both very involved in environmental protection, were particularly attentive to the damages of plastic pollution in general and more specifically on sea turtles. Digestive content of deceased turtles with plastic pieces, amputation due to drifting plastic fishing nets wrapped around turtle fins are all facts observed by the association.
The decision of Jack, Kim and his musicians to organize a plastic-free concert on Friday evening during the Papeete show is a strong commitment. The initiative of using bamboo cutlery and metal straws is also an exemplary eco-citizen act.
Te mana o te moana and several other local associations will be present on Friday evening before the concert. Come visit us and support our actions. Also, please bring your own recyclable bottles.
Together, we will go further for the safeguard of our planet!
