Last week we went to train 12 students of the University of French Polynesia (UPF) in Master 2 Sciences of the Universe, Environment, Ecology, specialty ” Insular Oceanian Environment” (M2EIO). As part of the teaching unit “conservation biology & invasions in the islands”, the training meant the emblematic marine species of French Polynesia, but the focus was on the place occupied by the marine turtle in terms of Polynesian traditions and culture. Students also had a vision of the status of sea turtles around the world.
