On Friday, we welcomed to the Sea turtle care center a green sea turtle found wounded in the head by a spear gun arrow in the lagoon of Moorea in Afareaitu. Sabine, the resident who found it, named it Temeio, which means “miracle” in Tahitian. The health of Temeio is critical but stable for the moment. Our teams are monitoring it closely and providing it with the necessary care so that it can go through these difficult first days. We will keep you informed of its evolution.
We want to remind you of the importance of respecting nature but also the living creatures that inhabit it. We thank you very much for your support and your positive thoughts!
Thank you to all our colleagues, partners, donors and volunteers that help us on a daily basis pursue our mission for the safeguard of the sea turtles in French Polynesia: Direction de l’Environnement Polynésie Française, Pacific Beachcomber, InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa, Vilebrequin, Air Tahiti Nui, Moorea Dolphin Centre, Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, IFBD & Aéro-Design.
