An incredible green turtle nesting season !
Some key figures of the 2023-2024 nesting season in Tetiaroa:
- More than 1,400 turtle ascents across the atoll
- For 441 confirmed nests It’s a RECORD-BREAKING year in terms of tracks recorded!
After analyzing the nests, we estimate that 34,980 hatchlings were born on the atoll this year with a peak in December and January, like the previous seasons
During the night shifts :
- 219 female observations have been recorded
- Allowing the identification of 76 different individuals
- Among which 13 have been observed during previous seasons.
One of them has been observed for the 3rd time this year in Tetiaroa!
