On December 1st in Paris, the President of the French Polynesia Edouard Fritch has proposed to make from the French Polynesian Exclusive Zone ZEE, a huge “marine area” managed. The Polynesian Educative Marine Area label (label AME) held in the Marquesas islands by the Marine Agency for the protected area (Agence des Aires Marines Protégées) and the Ministry of Education seduced the French Ministry for the Environment of whom one of the goal is to export this label in the metropolis.
For Edouard Fritch, the French Polynesia has to be an actor of the global warming in reducing the impact of it in providing solutions “for us”, “we need to be ourselves an example.” And this green future must be developed around three axes : “to protect our biodiversity, respect our culture and promote eco-citizenship”.
