A transplant session of coral cuttings was organized yesterday by our teams. Numerous coral cuttings were installed for a few months on the dedicated tables in the lagoon and had reached the right size for a transplant.
Our volunteer and marine biologist Yann Follin took care of collecting the cuttings and putting them in place permanently. These coral cuttings will be used to populate the under-water trail located in the lagoon of the Moorea Intercontinental Resort & Spa, where Te mana o te moana’s offices and the the Sea turtle care center are located.
These cuttings were installed as part of the Lagon récré educational programs. This program allows school children to make a coral cutting accompanied by an educator of the association. The aim of this action is to educate children on the preservation of coral and coral reefs.
Thank you to our partner Univairmer and to our volunteers Yann Follin and Didier Thomas.
