Thanks to the support of the PEW Charitable Trusts, a second part of the project consists in inviting school children, which have participated to the project held, to come on Moorea and exchange with another classeroom, participating at the same time to various pedagogic activities such as the visit of the coral garden, the sea turtle clinic and the dolphin lagoon, playing on educational gameboards… The first day of exchange was held on Tuesday 5th. School children from Tahiti (Taharuu elementary school) were welcomed to the “Fare Moana” for a happy and funny morning. But before they started to play games, the two classerooms have presented their respective production to the conservation of the ocean. In fact, the goal of this educational project was to create, either a charter or a poster, to explain to other children of French Polynesia the importance to respect and protect our ocean…. The production will be included in a toolkit created by the foundation that will be published soon. After having explained their production, they particpated to the activities proposed by Vie, Magali and Jonathan… (one if the classeroom has even wrote down a letter and sent it to the president of French Polynesia).
The second school of Moorea (CE1-CE2 of Maharepa) came on Wednesday to give us their charter and play with us during the all morning… The next one will come on June 5th (exchange between a classeroom of Tubuai, Austral Islands and Moorea).
We do actually gathered more than 6 productions from the school which participated to this project (Tahiti – Moorea – Austral Islands)…. We will inform you about the winner classeroon soon…
