The 2019 Science Festival (fête de la Science 2019) started on October 4th on the theme “Observatories and sentinels of change” with several events:
- Open doors in Research Institutes such as IFREMER and CRIOBE for schools and the general public – these events gathered hundreds of visitors
- Conference cycles with presentations from scientists and associations representatives – more than 200 people attended the presentations by over 15 presenters
- Educational workshops in schools on various topics – more than 500 school children participated in these workshops
- Creation of an Informative booklet presenting the local scientific institutes and associations involved in the local observatories
- And much more…
In the next few weeks, scientists and educators of local associations will travel to remote islands to deliver more educational workshops to local school children.
This Festival is a unique opportunity for the scientific world to meet with the general public and more specifically school children, and share their knowldge and findings on important matters.
Thank you to all for your participation!
