Looking Back on Te mana o te moana’s 20th Anniversary Evening – An Unforgettable Moment!
On December 19, 2024, we had the immense pleasure of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Te mana o te moana association at the prestigious Intercontinental Tahiti Resort & Spa. A remarkable venue for an equally exceptional event, marked by gratitude and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
20 Years of Commitment to Marine Environmental Protection in Polynesia
Since its creation in 2004, Te mana o te moana has been passionately dedicated to the preservation of marine wildlife and the education of younger generations. Through hands-on fieldwork, innovative educational programs, and numerous initiatives in collaboration with local and international partners, our association has established itself as a key player in the protection of sea turtles in French Polynesia.
An Emotion-Filled Anniversary Evening
This 20th anniversary was a wonderful opportunity to reunite with our partners, donors, employees, volunteers, interns, and friends of the association in a festive and warm atmosphere. The evening was highlighted by:
- Inspiring speeches recalling the key moments of these two decades,
- A tribute to the founders and pillars of Te mana o te moana,
- Moving testimonials from former volunteers and collaborators,
- A vibrant Polynesian cultural performance,
- And of course, a cocktail dinner featuring local flavors.

Building on these first 20 years, we look to the future with hope and ambition. Many projects are underway to strengthen our impact, expand our awareness efforts, and contribute even more to the preservation of French Polynesia’s marine ecosystems.
