Thursday August 31st, 2023, we had the great pleasure of celebrating the 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 of Te mana o te moana new premises located in Faa’a within the Intercontinental Tahiti Resort – Tahiti, French Polynesia hotel in the presence of 𝙈𝙧𝙨.𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖, who cut the symbolic wreath of our new Educational fare named 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙪.
We also had the honor of welcoming the Agriculture and Marine Resources Minister, in charge of Food and Research Mr. Taivini Teai, Education Minister Representatives Mr. Rony Teriipaia and the DGEE Director, the Direction of the Environment of French Polynesia, the French Polynesia Research Delegation, Mr. Robert Maker, from the Municipality of Faa’a as well as the Vice-Rector and the Territorial Delegate for Research and Technology.
After the 𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙘𝙝 made by 𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝘽𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙮, co-founder and President of Te mana o te moana, our 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 introduced itself to the guests. A 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 was then made by Dr. 𝘿𝙧 𝘾é𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙧, co-founder and director of strategy, before discussing some of the association’s 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 as part of its deployment on the island of Tahiti.
In addition to members of our 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨, many of our 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 were present: the Pacific Beachcomber Group, Tahiti InterContinental Resort and Spa, Tetiaroa Society, the University of French Polynesia (UPF), the Insulary Resarch Center and Environmental Observatory (CRIOBE), the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Federation of Environmental Protection Associations (FAPE), Tahiti Tourism, the Maritime Cluster, the EPER Club, Fenua ma, the City, Youth and Sports Ministry in charge of associations, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Tahiti, Air Tetiaroa, EDT, Polynésienne des eaux, Hinerava, Polynésie Voyages, The Brando and RIGEL SAS, Ofina, Top Dive and Pew amongst others.
The inauguration allowed guests to visit the Tahiti 𝙎𝙚𝙖 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 set up in June 2023 and to discover our current residents, the dedicated 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢, our 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 and 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨 as well as the 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙚 in which our educational programs, training sessions, and more broadly exchanges with other environmental associations and actions for the integration of young people take place.
A huge thank you to 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚 and 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝘽𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙮 for their support and in particular the construction of the Fare pote, as well as to the Pacific Beachcomber group and the InterContinental Tahiti group who have supported and hosted us since 2004.
